On 5 August 2014, thanks to some incredibly generous donors around the world, the £2,700 ($4,622 USD) funding for a playground at Everland Haiti was complete. The playground is in addition to the already funded Rescue Home, replete with furnishings, and the provision of solar power and water.
The playground consists of swings, 2 roundabouts, 2 runabouts, a slide, a seesaw, platforms, and fencing to surround the area. Many of the children in Haiti have never seen such things before. It now provides joy and happiness to countless children at Everland Haiti Children’s World.
Thanks to a small number of dedicated advocates around the world, Everland Children’s World is Haiti is starting to look like a mini Neverland through which Michael Jackson’s spirit and legacy will never die.
Maman Bishop tells us that the preschool children use the playground every day from 9:45 to 10:30 am, while family groups can use it between 3 and 5 pm and weekdays, and Sundays between 2 and 5:30 pm.
“May the spirit of Michael’s Neverland live on in Everland Haiti…..the love for children certainly does!” – Christine W, Netherlands – donor
